Our Cabinet Painting Process
Consultation and Selection Of Colors
Before we start the project, we will walk-through the process and ensure that we’ve captured every little detail. We will confirm the colors you want your cabinets painted, along with the sheen (amount of shine in the paint). We can match the existing cabinet color or use a new color of your choosing.
Remove All Doors & Hardware
After we walk-through the project, we will begin by protecting the area, taking off the cabinet doors and removing hardware. To make this process as efficient as possible, we ask that you prepare for the project by removing all items located inside the cabinets.
Prepare Cabinets for Paint
All surfaces that are not getting painted will be covered with paper or plastic such as floors, counter tops, or surrounding walls. Before we paint, our crew carefully prepares the cabinet surfaces for a fresh coat of paint. We sand down every nook and cranny and thoroughly clean the surfaces. Then we apply a high-quality stain-blocking and bonding primer.
Apply Paint
Once surface areas are prepped and primed, we begin applying coats of premium quality paint. We will apply multiple coats of paint and sand between each coat for a flawless finish. Our professional cabinet paint crew will keep you updated throughout the entire process.
Time for Cure
After the painting is complete, we allow time for the paint to dry before reinstalling the cabinets. The paint we use is professional grade and will actually take up to two weeks to fully cure. Using the professional grade paint is certainly worth the additional cure time as it will last longer and handle cleaning better than other paints. During the cure time, you can use your cabinets, just be gentle with them.
Clean Up & Walk-through Inspection
After the cabinets are reinstalled, we remove all paper and plastic in the area, sweep or vacuum your floors, and clean up the work area.
